Decorated note book

19 Feb

The sample of the Fresh Vintage Stamp set in the sale-a-bration catalogue is just beautiful and I had to make it, well my own version. As it is so nice I wanted to share it with my Stamp Club and it just so happens when I went to Officeworks shopping for High School supplies I found the most beautiful note books at a great price of $2 so I bought a stack not having any plan for them at the time however they came in very handy.

The patterned paper, ribbon, brad and stamp set are all out of the Sale-a-bration catalogue to view the cataglogue click here it is very nice.

My favourite big shot die, if you hadn’t noticed is ‘Beautiful Butterflies’. For the first time I used the on board sheets, which is hard to tell in the photo but it is the smaller of the butterflies. They went through the big shot very easily and then I just stuck on the embossed card stock. Very simple once again but beautiful at the same time.

Emboss Resist

18 Feb

Technique class at Stamp club this month was ‘Emboss Resist’, a technique I had never played with before and I love it. Holding a technique class makes me learn so many things, so it benefits all. It is a very simple technique, when the ladies looked at it they thought they were in for a night of hard work, how wrong they were. Simple but effective is the key for success but it doesn’t always happen, this time it was a winner. The stamp set and brads used are from the Sale-a-bration catalogue it’s called Fresh Vintage.

Stitched Stocking stamp set and Stocking tag punch

15 Oct

Last night the girls and I had a fantastic and productive evening learning new techniques tying bows, knots and using a fork yes a fork, they make the best bows all in my Stampin Cottage and the night was finished off with homemade blueberry muffins. So what did we make? We used the Stitched stocking stamp set and matching stocking tag punch, everyone was quite surprised at the fact that it can not only be used for Christmas but for birthdays and babys.

We made this cute card, I just love it. If you change the colours it can be turned into a girl card very easily.

We also made this Christmas card, it was nice and simple. Notice the cute bow? it was done by using a fork….

This is a baby card, the booties are just very cute…

I love this Christmas card, not quite the way we spend our Christmas in Australia it is normally very hot and we are in the need of cooling…lol

This card didn’t turn out like I wanted, you know it’s one of those cards you make with no direction and when you are finished you just don’t like. Well we all make those cards…lol

If you are interested in this month’s promotion with the Simply Stockings coordinating Christmas products get in before 31st October to get the good deal, for further information click here.

Share a cup

20 Aug

At our once a month Friday night Stamp club we ‘Share a cup’ of tea. We have a great night creating and chatting. I made this card for my stamp-stash girls to say thank you for there commitment over the last 12 months and gave them a gift bundle (a new catalogue with a wish list and book mark) of course and I couldn’t help myself I had to also give them the ‘share a cup’ stamp set ;-)

Coaster class

1 Jul

Last Friday night I had stamp club with nine lovely ladies and they had the joy of making coasters. In our Stampin’ Up newsletter last month on the front cover were coaster made using the Big Shot, I was very impressed with them and wanted to share my excitement. Unfortunately at the moment Stampin Up don’t sell cork sheets however I found some and bought all the shop had at the time so that I could run a class as I really wanted to share how easy it is to create such a simple but beautiful gift (one you can give away or make for yourself). The Pear Pizzaz ones below I made for my mum and the Greenhouse gala DSP ones I made for my home.

As everyones taste is different it was nice to see the variety (yes, I know I should have taken a photo. Thought about it then forgot about it just as quick). Each person got to make four each and I also showed them how quick and easy it was to make butterfly magnets with the scraps using the ‘Beautiful Butterflies’ Bigz dies. Sorry will add another post with the magnets.

Products used and order collated from bottom to top: Cork sheets, multipurporse adhesive sheets, Designer series paper, multipurpose adhesive sheets, window sheets and the Scallop circle die through the big shot.

Girls night out….crafting!

13 May

Hello there, sorry for my absence however I have been working very hard on our ‘Craft Getaway’. I am taking time out tonight as I have a class and we are making two projects with punches and lots of other great products including the ‘Big Shot’. The girls just love the owl punch and due to popular demand we are using it again but I didn’t want to make a card I thought I would put it to use in another way. We are making a bookmark and it is just the cutest bookmark if I do say so myself.

The other project we are doing is a pocket card with an insert, these are great for using as a card or for attaching a gift card to the insert. Love these colours and of course the cute cupcake punch.

I unfortunately can’t take the credit for coming up with the pocket card concept, I got the idea from a very clever lady Andrea Walford, she make the most gorgeous pieces of art work.

Well I better go and get sorted and orgainsed. We are having yummy scones for supper tonight as it is so damn cold here. Couldn’t think of a better way of spending my evening: creating with the girls, with the gas heater on with jam and cream scones….what a life :-)

I have used all Stampin’ Up! products expect the notebook and hat elastic. I have 1 more spot left for this Friday nights stamp club being the 29th @ 7.30pm cost $10. If you would like to snap this spot up please email me lana@harveysautotraders.com.au

One of many covered notebooks

22 Oct

It is that time of the year again where I need to start planning for Christmas gifts so I thought I would share my creations with you. At my stamp-a-stash stamp club tonight they are decorating a notebook, however, I will come back tonight to show you that one. This is a different style to the one they are covering. I wanted to show how the products Stampin Up! have are not just for making cards, you can make or decorate nearly anything. I picked up this notebook whilst doing my groceries, it is actually a shopping list notebook. It is definetly a pretty shopping list now.

Card organiser – stamp camp

19 Oct

Want to come make a card organiser? This would be a great gift that you could whip up for relatives and friends and all you need is some 12inch cardstock and designer paper.

We are running a stamp camp day where you will complete the above project (and be given the instructions so you can make others) AND a number of coordinating cards that can be given along with it…..

What is a stamp camp? This is class that usually goes for much longer, we will start at 10am and go through until the afternoon (or until you have had enough…LOL)

When: Sunday, November 28th

Time: 10am til afternoon

Where: Lana’s stamping cottage in Camden (address and directions given on booking)

Cost : $50

RSVP : We will have to have all money and registrations by the 21st of November so products can be ordered. This will just be a small group and will book out fast…..

How do you book: Contact me and arrange payment (cash or direct deposit) before the 21st November– spots will only be confirmed when payment is received. I will post here when the class is full. My e-mail is lana@harveysautotraders.com.au

Cost includes: All materials (cardstock, one half pack of ‘Soiree DSP’  - which will not be used in completeness….., coils, calendar sheets, card packs, instructions and access to pdf calendar files)  and some tools to produce this organiser and the coordinating cards. It also includes lunch and afternoon tea as well as hot and cold drinks throughout the day.

What do you need to bring: Adhesive (just what you normally use to make cards i.e. SU! snail or glue stick etc) cutter and bone folder.

The inside of the organiser has calendar pages (for you to record the special events you celebrate with cards) and pockets – so as the cards for the month are made you can tuck them in ready to go….a pocket for stamps and one for notes or addresses etc at the back…….

This is another sample of another one I have made for a gift as they make the perfect gift. Definetly not going to find one of these in the shops.
