Gift box and bag…..

After I made the album I thought I should put it into something so it wouldn’t get ruined. When I am in doubt as to what to do I email my great friend Sharon who always has the best ideas. Sharon suggested I make a box out of 12″x12″ cardstock and use a clear lid, so that is what I did.

Box with album inside

To make the box I actually got the cardboard that comes with the Stampin’ Up! designer series paper and scored where necessary. I then covered it with retired Stampin’ Up! DSP on the back and used Basic Black cardstock which I used the So Swirly wheel using the White ink.

Side of box

To hold the box together I used Stampin’ Up! Jumbo Eyelets

Back of box

This is the DSP I used for the back of the box.

Close up of inside box

This picture is a close up of the inside of the box with the album inside. As you can see the clear lid gives it a great effect.

Decorated gift bag

Instead of wrapping up the gift in wrapping paper I used a white gift bag and used the So Swirly wheel and used the dauber and sponges using the Rose Red ink. I used the Jumbo eyelets again at the top of the bag to thread through the ribbon to hold the bag closed. I stamped her name with Rose Red ink using the Big Deal Alphabet.

The party went well, it was a surprise party and it was definetly a surprise for her. She loved the album, she was a little intoxicated by the time I was able to give it to her so she would probably enjoy it more today, (to be 21 again!!! I am only in my early 30’s and I felt really old at this party….)

Birthday card…

I got so caught up in the album I nearly forgot to make a birthday card. I have kept with the same theme using the Stampin’ Up Priceless stamp set and So Swirly wheel. I didn’t go with plastering 21 on it, she knows she is 21 I don’t need to remind her…lol.

Front and envelope

Inside card

Products used: All Stampin’ Up. I did use some retired products as I still have some and they need to be used. The card stock is Purely Pomegranate and so is the wide satin ribbon and silver eyelets. The remaining is all in the current Stampin Up catalogue. Cardstock: Black, Whisper white. Ink: Rose Red, Basic black. Stamp sets: Priceless, On your Birthday. Wheel: So Swirly and as you can see I love using daubers or spounges to give colour to the edges.

Have a good weekend. Will let you know what Eloise thinks of her album, off to her party tomorrow night into the city.

Page 2

I love this page as it looks so fancy and it is simple to make. Products used: So Swirly wheel with black ink to make the patterned paper, which I have then daubered the flowers and spounged all over the page and edges with ‘Rose Red’ ink. I used the ‘Priceless’ stamp set to make the heart and then used crystal effects to make it look glossy. I have used Whisper White taffeta ribbon and coloured with a dauber using ‘Rose Red’ ink; I think it comes up ok, its not really bright but blends in well. The tag used is made up from the ‘Life Definitions’ stamp set, great stamp set for this type of album (I actually don’t own the set; my great friend Sharon let me us it, the concept of the scrapbook is also Sharons idea, she taught me well and now I am also clever….lol….thanks for being such a great sharer and teacher Sharon:))

Page 3

Products used: Whisper white cardstock, daubered edges in Rose Red ink, Rose Red cardstock to mount the photo, Rose Red Grosgrain ribbon, Priceless stamp set, crystal effects.

I hope your enjoying the album so far, will be back tomorrow with pages 3 and 4. Have a good night, I am off to bed as I have a cold and it is stuck in my throat, I sound like darthvader…lol :) Thanks for dropping by.

6″x6″ album….

17/06/2009 at 5:30 pm | In Cards and 3D ideas | 1 Comment

My apologies for not posting for a while, I have been on a mission to finish this 6×6 album for a 21st birthday this Saturday. I have made the complete album with 12 photos, cardstock, ribbon, accessories and my bind-it-all machine (a very handy machine for this type of work). It is not an expensive gift but looks a million bucks (well I think so; definetely a gift I would love to receive) and you will never have to worry about buying something they already have or don’t want. I will do my best at posting a couple of pages each day. Have have used a theme throughout the album using Stampin’ Up! products; Three colours: black, white and Rose Red. ’Priceless’ Stamp set and ‘So Swirly’ Jumbo wheel. Hope you enjoy looking. Cheers Lana :)

front cover

Products used: Cover is made with photo matt board (which I purchased from a craft store) it is very firm cardboard. I have then wheeled with the ‘So Swirly’  jumbo wheel using ‘Whisper White’ craft inkpad, chipboard is coloured with using a dauber and ‘Rose Red’ ink once dry I covered them with ‘Crystal effects’ which gives it that glossy look. I have threaded ‘Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon‘ through ‘Styled Silver Hodgepodge‘ and secured it into place with ‘Clear Rhinestone Brads’.
