Who would think….
26/04/2009 at 8:03 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentWent shopping for a pair of gumboots as where I live there is quite a bit of gardening and I was sick and tired of ruining my joggers and the hassle of getting them on and off was doing my head in. So off I went to BIGW on a mission to find some gumboots and the story of my life disappointment with shoe shopping as I am a size 5, so before giving up I went into the kids department and found these very trendy boots. Do they remind you of a particular Stampin Up Stamp set? Have a look on page 67 of the new Stampin Up catalogue and see what you reckon.

Season of Joy….
25/04/2009 at 9:53 pm | In Cards and 3D ideas | Leave a CommentYes, believe it…Christmas cards. Our school fete is in November so it only seems appropriate to have Christmas cards to sell. Sorry but I have used retired cardstock but the ‘Season of Joy’ stamp set is available in the new catalogue.

I wanted to show you in this picture how the simple use of a sponge and ink can make an image look better. I always build my cards to get a look at them before applying and double sided tape. As you can see the image on the left has not been sponged and the image on the right has been sponged around the edges of the image. It is really a personal choice but I believe it lifts the card.

Okay, I am off to work out my next challenge. I hope to post in a couple of days before I go off to ‘Stampin Up’s Convention’ in Canberra. I really enjoy going to Convention as you learn so many things and get inspired by so many people. Lets hope it is not to cold…
Curly label punch bundle…
25/04/2009 at 9:34 pm | In Cards and 3D ideas | 1 CommentThis is this first time I have used patterned paper as the main focus of a card. I think they have turned out ok. I little different to what I am used to doing and I must thank my friend sharon for steering me in a different direction (always a good challenge leaving your comfort zone). Okay, off to make some Christmas cards, I know seems very early doesn’t it! …yes, more fete cards..lol

Recipe for cards: All Stampin Up products: Curly label punch bundle, Urban Garden Designer series paper, Baja Breeze & Not Quite Navy cardstock, Baja breeze ribbon from Ribbon originals pack, Jumbo eyelets, rhinestone brads-square ice and I used retired soft sky grosgrain ribbon (haven’t got all the new in-colour ribbon yet;(
Eastern Blooms….
25/04/2009 at 9:13 pm | In Cards and 3D ideas | Leave a CommentI really like this stamp set, it has such a variety of uses; Modern, classic etc. More fete cards…lol..but must say I am making a little stash of my own as well to use and for gifts (my friends love getting a box of cards for Christmas). At the moment when I make up cards I try to make up eight at a time, doesn’t always work out like that though.

Recipe for this card: All Stampin Up products: Basic black cardstock, Whisper white cardstock, Whisper white taffeta ribbon, White emboss powder, versamark

Recipe for the card above and below: All Stampin Up products: Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red and Whisper white cardstock, Urban Garden designer series paper, riding hood red ribbon from ‘Ribbon Originals’, Pocket silhouettes stamp set for inside of card.

Why I use Stampin Up products…..
25/04/2009 at 8:02 pm | In Cards and 3D ideas | Leave a CommentWith making all these cards for the fete I thought I would use a mix of products to use up some stock but when it came to the crunch I found it really hard to mix and match other products with my stampin up products. The best thing about Stampin up is all there products match, there cardstock, patterened paper, ribbon, ink and accessories all mix and match so co-ordinating is an ease. The cards below has non Stampin Up patterened paper which I picked first and then did my best to match up the rest. The cards look ok but I can tell it doesn’t quite match.

Congrats to all my eBay winners….
18/04/2009 at 8:59 pm | In Cards and 3D ideas | 1 CommentStampin’ Up have put out there new catalogue for another year, so I had to do a clean out as I still had stamps that were from the 2006/2007 catalogue that I hadn’t cleaned out. I took the plunge and cleared them out. I had 43 items and sold them all. Congrats to all the lucky stampers out there who purchased them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I am looking forward to shopping in the new Stampin Up catalogue. I couldn’t help myself, I put a little card in all the parcels that I mailed out, only a simple one but still a nice one. (Sorry to the ones that didn’t get any ribbon, I ran out….lol)

I have been creating!
18/04/2009 at 8:49 pm | In Cards and 3D ideas | 1 CommentOkay, it does seem like I have been missing from blogging for quite some time but I have been busy creating cards (and selling retired stamp sets on eBay). My dear friend Sharon, her sister Nicole and I have been trying to build up a stack of cards to sell at our childrens school for our fete in November. We have made about 200 cards so far and have started with other 3d items. Okay, so this is what I have come up with so far.
