“Happy Birthday” Sharon…

This week I was busy putting this Square album together for my friend Sharon for her Birthday. I had never made one of these before so it was quite challenging for me to start with. Once I got started my creative juices got to work. I have used Stampin’ Up! Patterned papers, ribbons, ‘Priceless’ stamp set, ‘Everyday Flexible phrases’ stamp set, Pretties kit, Word window punch and various brads. I am really happy with how it turned out and yes Sharon loved it…

Bugs & Kisses…

When you see the ‘Bugs & Kisses’ stamp set you mainly think of creating artwork for boys, well I set out to create a card with the set using pinks. Bugs are not just for boys, my daughter just loves picking up and finding all sorts of creatures in the garden. Once again Stampin’ Up! stamp sets are just so versatile.

Male Card

Images© Stampin’ Up!® 1990-2008

I was asked to make a ‘Get well’ card for a male yesterday, once again I went to our Idea Book and Catalogue for inspiration. I don’t have any stamp sets just for males so I had to make something with what I had, so I found an idea on page 88 of the Idea Book and Catalogue using ‘Big Pieces and Little Pieces’, even though they used a 12×12 scrapbook page I have taken a little bit of the design and made it into a card. My customer who bought the card absolutely loved it.

Remember when making cards or scrapbooking grab the Stampin’ Up Idea Book and Catalogue and use many of the wonderful designs that have been made for us to use to create our wonderful cards and albums.

‘Pick a Petal’ cards

The ‘Pick a Petal’ stamp set used in a variety of different ways. Card on top I have embossed, card on right I have used chipboard and Designer series paper special and the card on the bottom I have used the Designer series paper special and flowers from the Pretties kit. This is an example as to have diverse one stamp set can be, and each card has a different look.

Note Cards

Images© Stampin’ Up!® 1990-2008

I have made all these Note cards for a friend, whos church is having a Garage Sale. I have got all the ideas from the Ideas Book & Catalogue. Sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the wheel, that is why it is called an Ideas book and not just a catalogue. When making a lot a cards at once, it is a great idea to make more than just one, each of these I have made two of. The larger one in the bottom row in the middle is not actually a card it is a post it note holder, if you flip the cover open inside is a yellow post-it-note pad. Please explore the Ideas Book and Catalogue it is great for ideas and inspiration.

Happy Mothers Day….

‘Happy Mother’s Day’ to all the Mothers out there. I hope you had a lovely day, I certainly did, I was taken out to lunch to a lovely restaurant in Camden called ’Olives’. The food and service was great, my kids behaved themselves and my mother and mother-in-law enjoyed themselves and all that would equally a lovely day.

The card up the top is the card I made for my mother as these are her favourite colours at the moment and the card at the bottom is for my mother-in-law. Both cards are using the ‘Pick a Petal’ stamp set, Prints Designer Series Paper, In-colour cardstock and ribbon, Pretties Kit and Embossing Powder. My dear friend Sharon has taught me the art of embossing and I am loving it at the moment it just gives the cards that special touch. Thanks Sharon.

Once again “Happy Mothers Day” xoxo

Flowers with a difference…

Sorry that I haven’t posted in a while, my week has been very busy. I have some lovely things that I have made to show you though.

I have made this vase of chocolate flowers for a very close friend of mine who is in hospital at the moment. They brighten up the room without needing to add water and they don’t die. I actually got the concept from a forum of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators I go onto every now and then, there are some very clever women out there with some great ideas.

I have used lots of new things such as Rub-ons, Pretties Kit, In-colour ribbon. I have also used Hodgepodge, ’Looks Like Spring’ stamp set and the ‘Greeting Galore’ stamp set for the title in the centre of the hodgepodge.

I love this card and had a great time making it. I got to experiment with dazzling diamonds using the heat gun and crystal effects and also play with my new stamp set ‘Pick a petal’ and the new ‘Designer Series Paper’. I also love the new in-colours, I have used the Wild Wasbi ribbon and cardstock on this card.
